Started the week by going to the state library, which is just across the university campus from where I live, to look at transit schedules through time. I was mainly looking for some inspiration for how to present transit schedules. It turns out they have lots and lots of those.
The ones that are most relevant are the most recent ones – they seem a lot easier to read than the older ones – and I have some recent ones myself. So my main takeaway is that I have all I need already.
But on the other hand the ones I found most interesting were the older ones. They had ones going all the way back to the 1850es and it’s a shame I was in a hurry because there’s so much to look at and take in. I don’t know if I learned that much that I can use in practice but I enjoyed it enormously.
As always the librarians were super helpful and knew a ton about the subject. Turns out they’ve even posted about it online. Librarians are great.
